Airtech Advanced Materials Group receives the Luxembourg American Business Award

Due to the devastation caused by Storm Sandy in New York at the end of October 2012, the bestowal of the “Luxembourg American Business Award” was postponed to the year 2013.

On July 9, 2013 this prestigious gala dinner hosted by the Luxembourg-American Chamber of Commerce was organized in close cooperation with the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office in New York. Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Guillaume and Crown Princess Stéphanie bestowed the Luxembourg American Business Award 2012 upon Airtech Advanced Materials Group.

Established in 1999, the award is presented every two years to recognize special and longstanding relationships between a North-American corporation and Luxembourg.  Previous Recipients of the award include: Goodyear Rubber & Tire Company (1999), DuPont de Nemours & Co (2002), Guardian Industries Corp. (2004), Avery Dennison, Corp. (2006). Delphi (2008) and Husky (2010).

Airtech was founded in 1973 by the Dahlgren family in Huntington Beach, California where the company headquarters are located. The group consists of four production sites, among which Airtech Europe, founded in 1991 in Differdange, represents their first manufacturing operation outside the USA. At the Luxembourg site the company has grown to 135 employees and facilities of approximately 18,000 m2.

Airtech develops, produces and sells material and supplies necessary for the production of items made of composite materials. Its products are used in the aeronautical, space, marine, automobile and windmill industries, as well as in the composites industry in general.

The Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade, Etienne Schneider, Luxembourg Ambassador to the United States Jean-Louis Wolzfeld expressed the full recognition of Airtech’s contribution to Luxembourg’s industrial fabric emphasizing this company’s strengths consisting of “the constant improvement of product quality and its adaptation at a discerning clientele as well as the needs of the global markets where the innovation of products play a major role in international competitiveness.”
