Tygavac Advanced Materials Announces Name Change to Airtech Advanced Materials UK

01 Nov, 2022

CHADDERTON, UK – November 01, 2022: Airtech Advanced Materials Group, the largest privately owned manufacturer of vacuum bagging and composite tooling materials, announced today that it is changing the name of its UK division from Tygavac Advanced Materials Ltd. to Airtech Advanced Materials UK.

Tygavac has been an established division of Airtech Advanced Materials Group (AAMG) since 1996. Changing Tygavac’s name to Airtech Advanced Materials UK allows the opportunity to become a more visible member of AAMG and more clearly display the group’s global capabilities to customers as it continues to grow. “We want to reassure our customers that there have been no changes to the Tygavac team, and that the name change will not affect the high-quality products and exceptional service you have come to expect,” said Kerry Lee, VP General Manager of Airtech Advanced Materials UK.

The new name is effective immediately and kicks off Airtech’s 50th year in business in 2023. Established in 1973, Airtech is a family owned and operated business that has pioneered innovations in the composite industry for nearly 50 years. In 1996, Airtech expanded into the UK market, acquiring materials supplier Tygavac with a staff of 13. Today, the UK site is 145,000ft2 (13,500m2) with a staff of over 100 and is home to one of its dedicated Kitting & Custom Engineered Products division.

In 2022, Airtech founder William (Bill) Dahlgren was honored with the distinguished Mort Kushner Lifetime Achievement Award by The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE). This SAMPE global award recognizes Bill for his lifetime dedication and groundbreaking contributions to the advancement of the composites industry. Airtech has also received numerous other industry awards, including the SAMPE Organizational Excellence Award and the FACC AG Excellent Supplier "Gold" Award. Companies in the Airtech Advanced Materials Group include Airtech Advanced Materials UK (formerly Tygavac), Chadderton, England; Airtech International Inc., Huntington Beach, California; Airtech Europe Sarl, Differdange, Luxembourg; and Airtech Asia Ltd., Tianjin, China.
